District Governor Elect Nominee (2014-15) Karel Weigel visited us from her club in Rochester.  She was here to present us with a check in the amount of $2500. This check represents a matching grant from our District that will go towards an internation project our club helped initiate with a sister club in Costa Rica.  Club member John Lennes led this project with the help of Chris Stein of the National Park Service.  Migrant birds from the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway spend their winters in Costa Rica and these funds will go towards preserving a territory in Costa Rica where these bird reside.
