I would like to strongly encourage you to visit the District 5960 website to get the latest information on The Rotary Foundations's  2015-2017 Peace Fellowship program.  A press release download is available to send out to your local newspapers and other interested parties. The very important application process time line  can also be download from our website.  Please note that we are encouraging clubs to set the date of April 5, 2013 to receive applications for review and endorsement.  The District deadline is May 10, 2014 for the receipt of all Peace Fellowship applications.  Those applications must be sent electronically to me at aanderson@electmech.com.
 
The Rotary Foundation sums up this program best:
 
"The Rotary Peace Fellowship is the premier educational program of The Rotary Foundation and supports Rotary’s mission to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace. It is intended for individuals who have chosen a career related to international relations, peace, and conflict resolution; who have work experience in these areas; and who have a commitment to community or international humanitarian service and working for peace. Applicants should consider these objectives carefully before applying. Two types of fellowships are offered: a master’s degree program and professional development certificate program."
 
Two years ago, District 5960 submitted three applicants for the approximate 110 fellowship awards worldwide.  Two of them were for the master's degree program and one for the 3 month certificate program.  All three of our our applicants were awarded fellowships! Two of them accepted their fellowships!  Obviously, we presented great candidates. We again have the opportunity to present great candidates for the 2015-2017.
