The Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Club proudly recognize long-time club member, Ned Gordon a CLUB COMMUNITY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD for his significant contributions to eliminating illiteracy and promoting education.

Ned Gordon served on the Stillwater Public Library’s Board of Trustees from 2007 through 2015, the full nine years that are allowable by State of Minnesota Statute. During that time he served on the Long Range and Strategic Planning Committee, the Facilities Committee, the Policy Committee, the Finance Committee, and the AV Task Force. Ned also held several offices on the Board. He was Secretary of the Board in 2007-2008, Vice President from 2009-2010, and President 2011-2012.
Throughout his nine years of service, he conducted library business with an eye on the big picture, helping to enhance the library’s ability to serve the public as library users’ needs and wants changed. He helped the community grow into an enlarged and enhanced library facility; weather the financial difficulties of the Great Recession; and make the transition to a more electronic future. The only times that Ned swerved from that big picture was when his early training as an English major would not allow him to overlook sins of syntax, word usage, or punctuation! Ned helped the Stillwater Public Library grow as a vital resource at the heart of this community.

Congratulations Ned and thank you!
